Describe the effect that implementation of information systems in organizations has had on organizational structure. Why have these changes occurred?

Things to spark your imagination:
1. Work would have at one time been done by many people spread around the different departments and it is now much more centralized by many companies.
2. Filing cabinets were needed everywhere ’cause everything had six gazillion hard copies.
3. We had many more indians and a lot less chiefs because there was tons more typing and filing to be done, not to mention all the physical labor of moving all that stuff around, and don’t forget the size of mail rooms has likely dropped considerably, and fewer people have to open the mail and lots less women taking dictation, etc….
