first substitute the values

length=6x-4

6(5)-4

30-4

L=26

width=3x+2

3(5)+2

15+2

W=17

the perimeter of rectangle is 2L+2W

so 2(26)+2(17)

52+34

=86

so 86 is the perimeter of rectangle whose length is 26 and width is 17..

hope this helps!

length is 6 times 5 minus 4 or 30 minus 4 or 26

width is 3 times 5 +2 or 15 + 2 or 17

2(6x-4) +2(3x+2)

= 12x – 8 +6x +4

= 18x -4

substitute x=5 in the expression,

= 18(5) – 4

= 90 -4

=86

solve x first by plugging 5 into the equation

2(30-4)+2(15+2) The 2’s that you multiply came from this formula of figuring out perimeter (2l+2w)

solve parenthesis first. 2(26)+2(17)

then mulitply the 2’s; then solve the problem

56+34=90
