Ask your teacher or someone in your class to explain this to you again. This really isn’t algebra – it is basic arithmetic.

1. < 2. >

3. 7.34, 7.35, 7.36, 7.37, etc.

4. 7.55

Yes, the book will stand upright because it is slightly shorter than the space between the shelves. 27.36<27.4 15. 9 16. 8.1 17, 1.16 18. 2.563 19. 0.3558 34. 15, 900,000 35. 6, 500,000 36. 10,000,000 37. 15,000,000

The first 4, I don’t know.

The book will stand on the shelves. There is 27.4 cm of room and the book is only 27.36 cm tall. You would still have .04 cm of room left.

15. 9

16. 8.1

17. 1.16

18. 2.563

19. 0.3558

When rounding, numbers 5 and over go up, below 5 goes down.

34. 15,900,000 = 15.9 million

35 6,500,000 = 6.5 million

36.10,000,000 = 10.0 million

37.15,000,000 = 15.0 million

I’m afraid I don’t understand what she wants with questions 1-4.

Writing: The book should fit since it is .o4 centimeters shorter than the shelving. 27.4 – 27.36 =.04

15. 9

16. 8.1

17. 1.16

18. 2.56

19. 0.3558

I’m not sure what she wants on these either, but here’s the rounding part.

34. 15,900,000

35. 6,500,000

36. 10,000,000

37. 15,000,000

Don’t count on these being right, though. Check the instructions and do the problems again yourself. Good luck.

I’m only helping you because I once did this and needed help. But you realize that this won’t help you on the tests. Your teacher will figure it out, if you continue to do this.

1) < 2) >

3) 7.37

4) 7.49

Writing- yes, because there is still 0.04 cm left of room.

15) 9

16) 8.1

17) 1.16

18) 2.563

19) 0.3558

You can handle 34-37!

Do your HW from now on!

1.) 7.41 < 7.55 2.) 7.33 > 7.24

3.) any number between 7.34-7.40 inclusive, such as 7.38

4.) any number larger than 7.41 non -inclusive, such as 7.45

*writing*

yes*, because 27.36 cm is smaller than 27.4cm

*answer is only valid if the 27.4 cm between the shelves is the actual space between and does not include the height of the shelves.

15.) 9

16.) 8.1

17.) 1.16

18.) 2.563

19.) .3558

34.)15.9 million

#1. less than #2. more than # 3. 7.34,7.35, 7.36, 7.37,7.36,7.39.7.40 #4. 741 is between 733 and 742

Writing: convert 27.4 to 27.40 and you will see that the 27.36 tall book will fit with .04 cm to spare.

15) 9

16)8.1

You should try to learn it now or you’ll just have to retake it next year. BTW, you should know all these answers before you get to 9’th grade, none of it has to do with algebra.
