Help me solve this equation and show how you got it: 5(x-3)2=0?
Favorite Answer
5(x-3)+2=0
(5x-15)+2=0
5x-15= (-2)
5x= (-2)+15
5x= 13
x=13/5
that’s what i remember.. hehe.. d-_-b
Here is an overview of how to solve:
Assuming it is 5(x-3)+2=0, you would first subtract 2 from both sides:
5(x-3)=-2
now divide through by 5
x-3=-2/5
add 3 to both sides
x=-2/5 +3
If you find the lcd of the fractions, you can then simplify the right:
-2/5 + 15/5 = 13/5
in mixed number form it is 2 3/5
think: 5 * (x-3) * 2, which also means 5 * 2 * (x-3)= 10(x-3)
so then:
10(x-3)=0 FACTOR OUT 10(X-3)
10x – 30=0 ADD POSITIVE 30 TO EACH SIDE,which
cancels -30from left side and is +30 on right side
10x=30 DIVIDE 30 BY 10
x=3
I THINK… LOL sososo sorry if i’m wrong…
first, you have to distribute the 5 to simplify your equation. So, it will be…
(5x -15) 2 = 0
then, distribute the 2…
10x – 30 = 0
you have to make all the numbers with variables in the left side and the non-variable numbers in the right side. Remember that when you transfer a number to another side of the equation, you will reverse the sign.
10x = 30
now, to solve for x, divide both sides of the equation by 10 to eliminate the 10 in the x.
10x/10 = 30/10
so, if you divide it… it will become:
x = 3
and that’s the final answer… 🙂
5x-15(2)=0, distribute 5 to (x-3), then multiply 15 to 2.
5x – 30=0
5x=0+30, transpose -30 to the right and (-) become (+).
5x=30/5, divide both sides by 5 to get the value of x which is 6.
x=6.
u multiply 5 and 2 = 10
den, 10(x-3) = 0
10=0 or x-3 =0
x=3
(5x-15)2=0
10x-30=0
10x-30+30=0+30
10x=30
10x/10=30/10
x=3
