Help me please…?

slope of the tangent line to the graph of the exponential function y = 2^x at the point (0,1) is given as:

lim x-> 0

((2^x)-1)/x

Estimate slope to 3 decimal places.

any help would be GREAT!

If both the numerator and the denominator tend to zero when x approaches zero, you have to use “De L’ H^opital” ‘s rule, which means that you have to find the fraction of the derivatives (=graph slopes) of the numerator and the denominator, respectively.

Think cleverly: [Talking about limits at the given point]

If (2^x)’ = (2^x -1)/x, then (2^x -1)’ = (2^x)’ -1′ = (2^x)’.

Doing the rest of the work gives you a typical function, which you can use to get the result you want.

If I am wrong, I am deeply ashamed of myself.
