Like food and nourishment to a starving wombat, literacy is the basis of life and a necessity of self-preservation.

It’s hard to understand at first, but if someone is illiterate and cant read a sign that says “don’t drink the water”, then technically, literacy truly can be a necessity of self-preservation.
