HELP!! Math!!?

In Industry, it is important to understand the relationship between wages and the quit ratio of employees, which is the percentage of employees that quit within one year of employment. The quit ratio of a large restaurant chain that paid its employees the minimum hourly wage ($5.75 per hour) was .2 or 20 employees per 100. When the company raised the hourly wage to $6, the quit ratio dropped to .18 or 18 employees per 100.

A) Assuming a linear relationship between the quit ratio Q(x) and the hourly wage x, find an expression for Q(x).

B) What should the hourly wage be in order for the quit ratio to drop to 10 employees per 100?

Please show work. Thanks in Advance!

On a graph of minimum hourly $ as abscissa (x) against number (y) per 100 quitting as ordinate, the equation is y = Q(x), and the two points you can plot from the data given are:

(5.75, 20) and (6.00, 18).

A.

The equation is therefore:

(y – 18) / (x – 6) = (18 – 20) / (6 – 5.75)

(y – 18) / (x – 6) = – 2 / 0.25 = – 8

y – 18 = – 8(x – 6)

y – 18 = -8x + 48

y = -8x + 66

Q(x) = -8x + 66.

B.

Putting y or Q(x) = 10 gives:

10 = -8x + 66

-56 = -8x

x = 7.

The hourly wage should be $7.
