there are three answers to this equation, because it is a polynomial. to solve, set each part of the equation equal to zero,

such as: 2x=0 then solve..what value of x sets this equation to zero (the answer is zero).

NEXT..(x+3) you also set this equation to zero… ask what value do i plug in to x so that the equation equals zero, um…if x= -3 then the equation (x+3)=0

Final…(5x-4)=0 isnt so very hard. first get 5x alone by adding 4 to each side of the equal sign. then divide each side by 5 to get x alone. you should have an x on one side of the = sign and 4/5 on the other side.

there are three answers because there are three values of x that set the left side to zero.

first do multiply the things in parenthesis against each other . using the foil method. then mulitply each of these times 2x. combine like terms. do all the necessary procedures to set x alone on one side. and voila. the answer. further explantion needed? email me
