Help! DENSITY density problems.?

Density problems! HELP me please?

1. A plastic ball with a volume of 19.7 mL has a mass of 15.8 g. Would this ball sink or float in a container of gasoline. (gasoline has a density of 0.75 g/mL)

2. A liquid in a graduated cylinder shows a volume of 4.0 mL. When a rock is placed in the liquid the reading shows 9.0 mL. If the rock has a mass of 2.0 g what is the density of the rock?

1. D= m/V : density is equal to mass over volume.

– a LESS dense matter floats above a More dense matter

2. D=m/V

volume of rock is equal to the displacement of water.

9.0mL-4.0mL= volume of rock.

density of rock = 2.0 g / volume of rock

First you will desire to get each and every little thing in consistent gadgets. Convert the 15 gallons to mL. Multiply that by way of the density g/mL x mL = grams convert grams to Kilograms and Kilograms to Lbs and you’re executed. i do no longer be attentive to the conversion from gallons to mL promptly yet i might wager it somewhat is on your textbook.
