Hello, I have a 30 sec. speech that I have to give today in my History class. I need help?

We can talk about anything we have learned so far this year (12 classes or less). We have been learning about the reformation. I am looking for facts that would sound good in a speech. Do you know of any? What are they?

I usually have no problem speaking in front of people, I just have never done impromtu speeches for 30 seconds.

Thanks

does this help

the religious revolution that took place in the Western church in the 16th century; its greatest leaders undoubtedly were Martin Luther and John Calvin. Having far-reaching political, economic, and social effects, the Reformation became the basis for the founding of Protestantism, one of the three major branches of Christianity.

Really, stay away from wikipedia on this one. Everyone in your shoes is going to rush to wikipedia. Either pick your textbook, mention Martin Luther, or hit some OTHER web site.

The main figure of the reformation is Martin Luther. The last time I took a class about the reformation was… 10 years ago, and I still remember the teacher talking about Martin Luther nailing the paper against the door. Everything else is pretty fuzzy.

Go to Wikipedia. Look up the reformation (assuming you’re talking about the Protestant Reformation). You’ll get a good thumbnail sketch of the event, and you can extract some materials from there. Take notes and re-phrase them into something coherent. Do not speak copied text. Look at it, understand it, distill it in your mind, and come up with three key points, maybe. It’s only a 30-second speech … you’ll do fine!

The moment when Martin Luther received the idea for reform came while he was emptying his bowels in the monastery “privy”. He reported that The Holy Ghost revealed these words: “The just man lives by faith alone.”

Sale of indulgences. How this upset Martin Luther and caused the Reformation. How much to you pay to commit adultery? Murder? etc. What the bible says about this thus why it upset Luther.
