You’ll miss out of the lyricism of the text if you don’t read it. Some of the passages are so beautifully descriptive. And by the way, the movie is quite different.

Here’s my summary: Two brothers grow up in Montana, fishing is important in their family. One brother has problems with drinking, gambling, etc. Older brother tries to help, but doesn’t know how. Younger brother ends up getting killed.

There are so many funny things that happen: Old Rawhide, etc. It really isn’t that bad of a book, even if you really aren’t into fishing (I’m not).

It is a possibility. But the river cannot run through a single person. As with electricity we have to be connected to a source, and also the river has to flow through us to somewhere else, it cannot just stop inside. Otherwise it would only be a stale pond. What it means that for the river to run or flow there has to be a chain, connected to a source. And this is exactly what we have to create. We have to connect to each other through perfect connections, based on unconditional love and giving, and then through these connections this spiritual river, or Light can flow through all of us, lighting us up with energy and life force. Only in between us, only within a single, united humanity can this river run through. This is the purpose of our lives. I hope it helps, all the best.
