it’s just f(x) = -x shifted down 2 units on the y-axis.

f(x) = -x – 2

f(-10) = -(-10) – 2 = 10 – 2 = 8

f(-5) = -(-5) – 2 = 5 – 2 = 3

f(0) = -0 – 2 = -2

f(5) = -5 -2 = -7

f(10) = -10 – 2 = -12

Put this in your graphing calculator.

Put Y= ‘-x-2’ and then push ‘Graph’

Looking at this equation, this graph should look like

a upside U shape because of -x that shifted to the right 2 spaces.

The graph would be going from left to right, going down. It would touch the -2 on the y axis.

in order to create the graph, you need to put this function into the y = mx + b formula, i.e. slope intercept form, where y is a function of x { y = f(x) }, m is the slope, and b is the x intercept { i.e. one of the points of this line will be (b,0) }. In this case, the m = -1, so your slope is -1. This should give you enough info to graph the line.
