a. 7/10 x 5 = 35/10 (reduced = 3 and 1/2)

b. 1/2 x 1/3 = 1/6 (multiply numerators and multiply denominators)

c. 3 ft. = 36 in.

36 xdivided by 3/4 = 36 x 4/3

36 x 4/3 = 144/3 (reduced = 48)

a.

W = 7/10 x L

and,

L = 5

so,

W = 7/10 x 5

W = 7/2 inches

b.

Cake eaten = 1/3 * 1/2 = 1/6

Fraction of the whole cake = 1-1/3-1/6 = 1/2.

So he ate half of the cake!

c.

First you need to know that there are 12 inches in a foot.

Now,

3 feet = 3 x 12 = 36 inches

How many 3/4inch can fit = 36/ (3/4) = 48 books

Hpe this helps!

a) W = (7/10)*L therefore W=(7/10)*5 = 35/10 = 3.5″

b) 1/3 * 1/2 = 1/6

c) 3feet = 36inches, so 36 / (3/4) = 36 * 4/3 = 144/3 = 48 books
