(-1)(-2)- (-4)

2+4

6

if your wondering why others are saying its 8 its because of this:

while the rule is that for every two negative signs next to each other, they make a positive, since here it was a subtraction of a negative number, making that positive would mean that it would turn into an addition, not a multiplication

you would just plug in the numbers to the equation

(-1)y-(-x) —> (-1)(-2)-(-4)

you would do the first set of equations first

(-1)(-2)-(-4) —-> (2)-(-4)

then there is a rule. for every 2 negative sign there is, you would combine then and make them a positive.

(2)-(-4) —-> (2)(4) —> 8

(-1) y -(-x) = (-1)(-2)-(-4)

(-1)(-2)=2

(2)-(-4)= (2)+(4) (the 4 becomes positive. thry it on a calculator)

2+4=6
