The amount of homeless people has increased (you need to look up the actual statistic – I don’t know it) and we tend to spend more money on foreign aid then we do our own citizens. Illegal immigrants can come here and get free health care, food, state subsidies but our own American homeless are forgotten. Elaborate on how a lot of the homeless we see are vets and rather than being treated with respect, they are all but forgotten.

You can also talk about how now, with subprime mortgates, interest only loans, payday loans, etc., more and more are on the cusp of losing everything – whole families whose parents bit off more than they could chew are now going to pay the consequences. Hope this helps – good luck with your essay!
