Most European countries that border the Mediterranean Sea have the yearly custom of Carnival right before the Easter holidays. In America, in the city of New Orleans, we call this Mardi Gras. (Remember Chopin’s French characters?) During Carnival, everyone dresses up in costumes and masks and gets drunk. They are allowed to commit all the sins that are immoral during the rest of the year.
