A nomad is a person or a group that regularly moves his home.It is done because the weather changes and the nomad follows either the crops or the animals.

A farmer stays in one place..the farm and plants crops in the same designated areas.

It is important since it was a great boost for civilization when people could remain in the same place.

Nomads travel, not staying in one place for long periods of times.

Ex: Some American indians followed the herds for their survival (nomads).

Others were agricultural, growing corn and other foods to survive (farmers).
