I would bet you could find the children’s poems with a google search.

Here’s one that I remember when I was a child:

I never saw a purple cow.

I never hope to see one.

But I will tell you anyhow.

I’d rather see one than be one.

Your school or public library should have several anthologies of children’s poems. Simply ask the reference librarian to help you find collections of childrens poems. Many of them lend themselves to activities because they deal with games, animals, and other things that interest kids.

here’s one i have always liked it’s by robert louis stevenson and it’s simple and i think everyone who has ever had a swing can relate to it.

The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,

Up in the air so blue?

Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing

Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,

Till I can see so wide,

Rivers and trees and cattle and all

Over the countryside –

Till I look down on the garden green,

Down on the roof so brown –

Up in the air I go flying again,

Up in the air and down!

Robert Louis Stevenson.
