Do you have any tips on remembering the amendments to the US Constitution?

For my American Government class, we have to remember all 27 amendments to the US Constitution and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on remembering certain ones.

For example: a way I can remember the 2nd amendment (the right to bear arms) is to make my thumb and my first finger into the shape of a gun. “Two” fingers make a “gun”.

I can remember the 21st amendment (repeal of prohibition) because you have to be 21 to drink.

I can remember the 22nd amendment (number of presidential terms) because 2+2=4; two 4 year terms.

Does anyone have any other ways to remember certain amendments? It would really help me out!

Thanks!

I learned them by flashcards too! Also, for 1-15, my teacher used to sing the “12 Days” method- http://www.learningtogive.org/lessons/attach.asp?attach_num=2&ln=3&unit=42

You can drill yourself with flashcards. Like write “First Amendment” on one side, then write what the defination on the other side, and then a new card for each amendment. You shuffle the cards and drill yourself or get together with a friend and go through them. You will also want to learn then forwards and backwards, so also look at the definations and then try to get the ammendment number, and then vice versa.

Just memorizing them is better than trying to come up with gimmics.

Don’t forget them.

Then you can remember them with ease.
