Dividing Fractions?? help!!!?
Favorite Answer
2/3 divided by 12
Invert (i.e. turn over) the denominator fraction and multiply the fractions
Multiply the numerators of the fractions
Multiply the denominators of the fractions
Place the product of the numerators over the product of the denominators
Simplify the Fraction
So 2/3 multiply by 1/12
answer is 1/18
-2/3 / 12 = -3/2 X 1/12 = -3/24 Simplfying the fraction it equals -1/8
(-2/3) / (12/1) = (-2/3)(1/12) = (-1/3)(1/6) = – 1/18.
Dividing by a whole number like 12 is the same as dividing by the fraction 12/1 so invert it (flip it over with the numerator on bottom) and then multiply the new numerators and then the new denominators and you will have your answer.
then multiply
-2/3 x 1/12= -2/36 = -1/18
dont forget . -1 x -1 = +1
-2/36 OR -0.0555556 (Repeating 5)
you have to multiply -2/3 by 1/12 (the reciprocal of 12)
you get -2/36
Divide each by 2 to reduce and you get -1/18
