Density hw HELP!!!!?

During a labratory experiment, a sample of aluminum is found to have a mass of 12.50 grams and a volume of 4.6 milliliters.

What is the density of this sample, expressed to the correct number of significant figures?

the values that you have been given are each specified to two significant figures.

therefore, you should follow that pattern and the correct answer is 4) 2.7 g/mL

Density = mass/volume = 12.50/4.6 = 2.717

But you most take into consideration the amout of significant figures which would be two.

Final Answer = 2.7 g/ml

DO NOT TAKE THE GUY BELOW’S ADVICE: DO NOT ALWAYS EXPRESS SIGNIFICANT FIGURES TO THREE, significant figures are different depending on what information the problem gives you.

i assume you have physic maybe.

but anyways..always express sig figs to 3 numbers

if the answer was 45.000054 then it would be ok to leave it like that…but in this case you leave it at 3 numbers
