This site may help you–it does the citation for you. Now for all I know your teacher wanted you to do the citations by hand without using a citation generator, but really if you go very far in school you’ll get more practice that you’ll ever need.

By the way, this site does MLA style citations. Hopefully that’s what you’re looking for. If your teacher didn’t specify then MLA is a pretty safe bet.

UPDATE (to clarify after reading following answer): Since the question specifies “footnote or bibliography” I provided the following source to use for a bibliography. A correct source at that.

If you need a good source to help you with footnotes, send me an email and try to let me know what style your teacher wants your citations done in. I will be glad to help you out… and since I’m studying to be a librarian, I do know what I’m talking about.

No, no, no, no, no! You cannot!

I have written MANY papers w/ footnotes & there is a specific way in doing so. Just as there is a specific way to write a bibliography.

The first gal mentions MLA…that does NOT apply to footnotes. Becareful of the info you get here. They try to help but they DON’T know.

MLA is a much bigger pain in the a$$ than footnoting.
