“There are many differences between Korean and American culture. Some examples follow.

Although Americans are not necessarily disrespectful of one another, English contains no specific honorific expressions. The Korean language, on the other hand, shows honor through specific words, prefixes, and suffixes.

Americans do not consider it rude to call a teacher by name; in Korea, this would be a very rude action.

Wheat, beef, and pork are staple foods in America, while rice is the staple food of Korea.

There are only a few public baths in America and these are not widely used. In Korea, public baths are extremely popular.

Most Americans exercise. There are many gyms and clubs in the United States and school sports are strongly emphasized. Fewer Koreans exercise, gyms are rarer, and school sports are downplayed.” (Though there are many gyms in America, a large percentage of our population is also obese.)

“There is no school violence in America.” (Sorry, this isn’t actually true – we have lots of problems with school violence in the States. Are you trying to address the issue of corporal punishment in schools? If so, use the following.) “Corporal punishment is illegal in the United States. Teachers are forbidden to strike a child and are legally obligated to report any abuse they think may be occurring. In Korea, physical punishment is quite normal and teachers frequently strike students with their hand or a stick.

Most Americans are honest and frank. They are accustomed to arguing in order to achieve their goals. Koreans would prefer to maintain social harmony.

The majority of Americans profess to be adherents to Christianity. Though Catholicism and Protestantism are both represented in Korea, a majority of Koreans follow Buddhist tradition. Korea is also a strongly Confucian nation, though Confucianism is less a religion than a set of rules for social interaction.”

It’s important to match each element of American culture with an element of Korean culture if you are comparing and contrasting the two. A numbered list doesn’t terribly well and, especially if you’re writing for school, it would be better to follow the format I’ve laid out above.
