Chemistry Question?

Hello. I need help with the question that i am stumped on. i think i have an idea. but i’m not sure. here it is:

Hydrogen sulfide is composed of two elements: hydrogen and sulfur. In an experiment, 6.500 g of hydrogen sulfide is full decomposed into its elements. (a) If 0.384 g of hydrogen is obtained in this experiemtn, how many grams of sulfur must be ontained?

So Are you just supposed to subtract 0.384 from 6.500? Your help will be greatly apprecitated! =]

H2S –> H2 + S

yeah you r right conservation of mass

it would be different if you were talking about concentrations or something else.

i think you need to know the chemical formula of hydrogen sulfide, like H2S or HS. then its a matter of using converison ratios to find how many grams of sulfide must be obtained.

id know for sure but im to lazy to go get my high school chem notes… even to do my summer homework!
