can you tell me how to tell if points are collinear?

the points we are given are (-2,1) ; (-1,0) ; (2,-2)

if you find the slopes of these points they are not the same so does that mean that they are noncollinear?

Get the equation of the line using the first 2 points. Then substitute the last point in this equation to check if it is satisfied. If it is, then it means the 3 points are co-linear.

Another way of checking quickly is to plot the points on a piece of graph paper. You should be able to tell quickly if all the points fall on a straight line. If they don’t, they’re noncollinear.

Yes, that means that they are noncollinear. That’s all there is to it!
