(9*0)-(6*2)+2 first plug in values for x and y

0-12+2 then solve what’s in parentheses

0+-12+2 then change neg. to pos. adding a neg. mark to any one you change to pos. ex) -12 you change to +-12

-10 is the answer after you simplify

Weird looking process is actually the same as a familiar process.

MINUS a negative numbr is same as PLUS a positive nbr

10 – -5 is the same as 10 + +5 = 15

PLUS a negative number is same as MINUS a postive nbr

10 + -3 is the same as 10 – +3 = 7

e.g.

X with X’s

Y with Y’s

XY with XY’s

etc.

And if you move an equal sign to the other side,of the equation. The numbers where the “=” moved over become opposite. Positive to Negative and vica versa
