Are you sure you typed numbers 1 2 and 3 correctly? There is no = sign in them, so they’re not equations and can’t be solved. Now, if you’re supposed to simplify them, then ok.

One – 5x – 20 – 7, 5x-27 is the answer

Two – 54 + 9y +3y, 54 + 12y is the answer

Three – 42 + 12a – 8a, 42 + 4a is the answer

Four – 7r = 21, r = 21/7, r = 3

Five – 24t = 54, t = 54/24, t = 9/4 or t = 2-1/4

Six – 14x = 42, x = 42/14, x=6/2 or x = 3

It’s easy. Just distribute with the first three. ex 1: 5(x-4) -7 = 5x-20-7 then combine all the one’s with the same variable. 5x will stay 5x because it’s the only one with x as the variable. -20-7=-27 because neither one has a variable. so the answer would be:

5x-27

Then with the last three combine the like terms then devide by the number left with the variable.

ex4: 5r+2r=21 would be 7r=21. Devide both sides by 7 and you get r(which is the same as 1r) =3

get it?

like terms: add or subtract term (or coefficient) that are the same. so, for example, 8g+2g=10g.
