On the chance that you don’t have a dictionary (ask your parents for one, it’s safer than the internet), “indivisible” means “cannot be divided” or “cannot be separated”. The use in the pledge is to say that our country will stick together and not be broken up. Good luck.
Sorry Amber but I have grandchildren your age and they are always asking the meaning of words rather than look them up..And the folks above me are right never give out your Name or age on line…TOO MANY CREEPS OUT THERE LOOKING FOR CHILDREN…
First sweetheart learn how to look up words, either with an old fashion dictionary or with your word processor.
The word Indivisible means:
That Our nation under GOD can not be divided…like “union we stand, divide we fall”
And darling, don’t ever give out your name on the internet. You don’t know what kind of weirdos are out there.
It relates to the fact that the United States is united and not divided. The word is archaic and not in use anymore, or nearly not. It is also describing an attraction to other similar
objects; atoms, quarks, etc.

Generally, when you’re looking at words, you can tell the meaning by the Latin roots:
the prefix “in” means “not” …as in “incorrect” or “inappropriate”
the suffix “ible” or “able” means just that: “able”
“Divis” can be found in words like “division”
so “in-divis-ible” means “not-divide-able”
Here are similar words:
incomprehensible
inadvisible
inadmissible
See if you can tell what these mean…
