Can someone help me with writing a speech?
Favorite Answer
-interested in helping the voice of the student body be heard;
-willing to listen to what changes & improvements students tell him they’re interested in seeing take place;
-believe the democratic system (1 person, 1 vote…”we have what others are fighting for”) can work in your school;
-believe you can get the attention of those who have the power to make changes occur at your school;
When you speak, put your feeling into it – use dramatic facial gestures, wave or fling your arms, and speak loud. Ask a rhetorical (not-to-be-answered) question or two (“Don’t you think we can do it?!” “How bad do YOU want change?!”). Animation will be appreciated by your listeners, and those who don’t care will select you for the good show alone.
Best wishes.
“I’m Jane Doe. As you know, the President of the NJHS needs to be a person who can:
1) run meetings. I can do this because I taught Sunday school for three years.
2) speak in public easily. I won two awards in the school Speech club.
3) represent the club in the newspaper
4) behave well in school
5) get good grades…”
(etc.)
Why should you be the winner instead of that person you just thought of? Come up with at least three reasons why YOU are a stronger candidate. Are they good? If yes, then say so. Are you better? You better be able to explain why.
If you can’t. don’t run. By the way, do you think the other candidates are asking for help with their speeches? From anonymous strangers!??!
