Can someone help me on equations with variables?
x/7-2=-5
could you please explain how you get the answer?
i just need like a step by step.
Favorite Answer
(x/7) -2 = -5 now becomes (x/7) = -3
because your x is a fraction, you need to make is so that x is whole. do this by mulpiplying both sides of the equation by the denominator. you get:
7 * (x/7) = -3 * 7
simplify and you’ll get the answer
x = -21
To solve for a variable, isolate it using properties.
First Add 2 to both sides, which makes the equation still true.
x/7 – 2 (+2) = -5 (+2)
Results:
x/7 = -3
Now Multiply both sides by 7, still making the equation true.
x/7 (*7) = -3 (*7)
x = -21
The number X is equal to -21
Basically, What you do to one side you must do to the other!
