Metaphor: Ralph was a monster when I awoke him for work this morning.
Simile: Ralph acted LIKE a monster when I awoke him for work this morning.
Metaphor: You don’t have to be afraid of my pit bull; he is a pussycat.
Simile: You don’t have to be afraid of my pit bull; he is LIKE a pussycat.
Metaphor You don’t have to be such a beast just because I came home a little late from work.
Simile: You don’t have to act AS IF you are a beast just because I came home a little late from work.
Her hair was so long it looked LIKE spaghetti.
A METEPHORE is a comparison of 2 unlike things NOT useing LIKE or AS. Example
Her hair is spaghetti.
