Can anyone give me an example of a good attention catcher for a speech about stem cell research?
Favorite Answer
Humor — tell a joke or a funny story
Narrative — start your speech with a story, tell how you became interested, why it’s important
Shocking or startling statement — say something that is unexpected and catches the audience off guard
Picturesque Scene/story — begin with descriptive scene or story, draws the audience in
Quotation — use a famous or clever saying
Rhetorical Question (aka the weasel way out) — ask a question to get the audience thinking
Hope this helped you!!
Imagine the world 20 years from now. Imagine a world without incurable diseases like Diabetes, Alzheimers, and cancer. Imagine a world where people didn’t die because doctors couldn’t do anything for them. 20 years from now, this dream could be reality, all because of stem cell research…
Then you could go on and state your thesis or something…
I hope this helps!
