i’m a business management graduate almost 4 years ago, but the path i took was totally different from the course i graduated from. i’m now a 4th year medical student…..you do the math…..
2007-2008 Work on spelling, because no one and I mean no one uses text messaging spelling on resumes, educational grant applications, college entrance exams, and if they do, they are getting denied.
2008-2009 Work on the general education requirements for whatever degree program you are interested in.
2009-2010 Continue to work on the gneral requirements, while adding in an elective and the first classes of your core requirements.
Also, now would be a good time to find an internship or part time work in your chosen field – speak with your guidance counsellor.
2010-2011 You now have a good look at all that is required in your chosen field. Continue with your core requirement classes and think about upgrading your position at work/finding a position with room for advancement and tuition reimbursement.
2011-2012 Finish up your coursework, you should be getting a Bachelor’s Degree soon. Decide whether you want to continue your education, get another degree in a different subject, evaluate what would make you the best candidate for that great job position you’ve been thinking about, or continue to advance into the position available at your current job. After you get this degree, take some time off to be an adult, working (ie not a student any more) to find yourself, and do some soul seearching to see what next steps really are ahead of you.
2012-2015 This is your time figure out where you are headed, does this include advancing your life in other areas, such as marriage and children, etc.
Good Luck and by the way ignore “My Name is Vince & I am Funky” – he should have better sense than that to be posting that kind of stuff in the homework area (SHAME, SHAME, SHAME)
Full time college is 12 hours, usually 3 hours per course with Science stuff usually 4 hours. So, a full time student has roughly 4 classes. I tried to take 15 hours each semester because you get more for your money. Let the Extra course be something that pertain to your management interests. For myself, I took a few Botany and Horticulture classes. Some Drafting and at that time Lotus 1-2-3 (I think that was it). I had a landscaping business, years later. I had an A.A.S. Degree in electronics and that what I did for work until I was prepared for my own business.
So, college last until 2012 and may last until 2013 depending on what and how you learn. IF, you want to have your own business one day, then it best to work out of college for an established company that do what you want to do.
For example, say you want to own a restaurant one day. Some extra classes you take in College may be cooking. Then you may work part-time when in college for a place that cook. When you graduate college in 2012/2013 you work for a restaurant for 2-3 years and you learn everything that place do. You learn and get paid. You learn where they buy food and napkins. You learn where they buy ovens and potato peelers and where good used equipment is. So, that get you to 2015/2016.
Oh! Do not forget to manage you a social life into all this too. :-p
Business management is a very stressful job.Why do you want someone else to direct you in what you want to do?
no one can make up your curriculum but you.
You’ll have plenty of time to dial in your “plan” during your college years, dont rush it. Oh ya one more thing..Do well in high school first.
