Can agriculture fall into the category of industry??

Can they be lumped together and agricultre branch out from industry or is agriculture a separate thing?

Agriculture is usually a separate branch from industrial.

When the government reports economics statistics, farming stats are always separate from manufacturing stats.

However, the distinction becomes blurred in cases in which a company such as John Deere manufactures agriculture equipment. John Deere would be an industrial company. Certainly any stats about this company would be relevant to the health of the agricultural sector.

as far as i am concerned when you lump chickens in cages so small they cannot turn around, it is industry and not agriculture…..at one time agriculture was simply farming and ranching, some on a small scale and some on a larger scale, now everything is corporate and nailed down to business and nothing more, and become more like industry, crate raising chickens, pen raising swine, and force feeding cattle in pens……

not an extremist but someone that feels that the animals we eat at least deserve a decent life while they are here, are we not shepherds instead of heartless creatures
