Algebra question?

I have been trying this problem for like an hour i get the rest but this one doesn’t make sense

the measure of a supplement of an angle is 12 degrees greater than 3 times the measure of a compliment. Find the measure of the angle??

I f a compliment is 90 degrees and a suplement is 180 how does that fit into the problem or does it??

Its basically saying

(180 -x)+12=3(90-x)

x=the angle your trying to find

180-x= the supplement of the angle

90-x= the complement of the angle
