Camel crossing the desert?? plz answer homework help math?

a camel rests by a pile of 3,000 bananas at the edge of a 1,000 mile desert he plans to travel across the desert transporting as many bananas as possible at any given time but HE MUST EAT ONE BANANA AT EVERY MILE. If a camel doesn’t have a banana he won’t move.

What is the maximum numbers of bananas the camel can transport across the desert? How does he do it

I don’t know, but a banana eating camel, now that is interesting!!!!!

I thought maybe at first, moving small groups, and then returning back to the beginning, so he moves the entire pack a mile at a time?

There isn’t a max amount that he can carry? If he carries them all from the get go, he can carry 2000 to the other side?

This can’t be a serious question. He’ll need 1000 bananas to cross the desert, if he doesn’t have anything to drag the bananas with, he could always keep kicking them infront of him all the way I guess…either that or store them in his humps. That or let them dehydrate in the sun, that’ll help
