Bushido philosophy is a code of honor saying that if you have not performed your soldierly duties correctly, then you should die under seperker (not sure of spelling) suicide. It was deemed honorable for example for the kamikaze pilots during WWII to die for their country in suicide raides – and some Japanese soldiers were found some 25 years after the war on isolated islands because they refused to surrender – that was dishonorable.
