Another question about Zen and the Art of Motorcylce Maintenance?

Would you say the narrator isolates himself? He thinks to himself all the time and when his son asks what he thinks about he won’t tell. Another reason that makes me believe is the dreams he has about his son being behind a glass door and cannot hear him. I’m not sure if these would be good examples of him isolating himself or not. Could you think of any other examples?

Sure. He takes this long trip by himself. He rarely interacts with people in the story. He spends most of his time in his own head. Most of the narrative is about things he experienced, read about or thought about all by himself.
