Am I doing this inequality problem correct?

|x-1| < - 3 x < -2 , x > 4

|x+5| > -6

x > 11, x < 1 --- Thank you >_<

Oh, dear me! No, neither is done correctly….

Watch and learn…

PROBLEM 1:

|x-1| < - 3 This can NEVER be less than -3.... because the absolute value of ANYTHING is always going to be a POSITIVE number.... This one has NO SOLUTION... PROBLEM 2: |x+5| > -6

This will ALWAYS be greater than -6…. because the absolute value of ANYTHING is always going to be a POSITIVE number….

So the solution is “x” is the set of all real numbers…
