I believe your eq’n is f(x) = 16x^2 – 9. Then we have the difference of squares: f(x) = (4x-3)(4x+3), so for f(x) = 0, we have x = 3/4, -3/4

16x^2 – 9 = 0
so
x^2 = 9/16
x = ±â(9/16) = ±(â9/â16) = ±3/4 = -3/4 or 3/4

y=16x^2 – 9
0=16x^2 – 9
9=16x^2
9/16=x^2
+-sqrt(9/16) = x
+-(3/4) = x
Same result as above, just done a little differently.
