Algebra II – Consistent and Dependent?

My algebra II online course threw me for a curve. I need to replace the variables ‘m’ and ‘n’ with numbers so that the equation is Consistent and dependent (esentially, the same as the first)

No matter what variables I try, I can’t get them the same. Any help? And not just the answer (although that is nice), HOW did you get the answer?

Since the coefficient of x in the second equation is 1, you need to divide the first equation through by 2 giving you

x + (7/2)y = 5/2

This gives you m = 7/2 and n = 5/2.

How does that look?
