Algebra help…please?
I am confused about this question and the fact that it is using both supplementary and complementary angles; I don’t know how to make the step and put them together:
Question
Find the measure of an angle such that twice the measure of its complement is 16 degrees more than twice the difference between the measures of its supplement and its complement.
Any help would be great. Up to this point, the problems have been looking like this:
The angle’s measure is 81 degrees more than twice that of its supplement.
180-x = 2x+81 – subtract -81 from both sides
99 –x = 2x – add x to both sides
99 = 3x
x = 33
33*2=81 147 degrees

2*[90-x]-16=[2*[[180-x]-[90-x]]]
180-2x-16=[2*[180-x-90+x]]
180-2x-16=[2*[90]]
180-2x-16=180
-2x-16=0
x=-8
Doesn’t seem right, but its what I get.
