a separate peace question help please =)?

the author as craftsman carefully selects those events that are to be described as they happen and those events that are reported after they occur. Rereade the passages referring to Finny’s fall. Why do you think the author has carefully described the moments before the event and the results of the event, but has not described the fall as it happened in all of its detail?

this is the question im trying to answer so if youve read this book and you know what the question means, can you please help me out a little?? thanks!
