omg i totally hate algebra..
but im learning this too (:
first you take 1/8(5y)+1/8(64)=1/4(20)+1/4(2y)
then you reduce. .625y+8= 5+.5y ((and yes I did have to use a calculator. lol))
take away .5y from .625y = .125y
.125y+8=5
-8+-8
.125y=-3
divide .125y/.125 = -3/.125
y = -24

4(5y+64)=8(20+2y)
20y+256=160+16y now put like terms together
20y-16y=160-256
4y=-96 divide both sides by 4
y=-24
