standard slope-intercept form:

y= m x + b

m = slope

b = y-intercept

parallel means the equations have the same slope ( m ; also the coefficient of x)

m = 4

y = 6

x = 1

since you know all of those, you need to solve for b (y-intercept)

y = m x + b — subsitute what you know into the equation

6 = 4 (1) + b

6 = 4 + b — subtract 4 from both sides:

2 = b

now, write the equation only using SLOPE (M) & Y-INTERCEPT (B)

y = 4x + 2 <-- final answer.

Use this equation: y=mx+b

Point-slope equation: y-y1=m(x-x1)

(1,6) x=1, y=6

y-6=m(x-1)

Find the slope and the use the point slope equation. Your slope is m.

y=4x-2 is the slope intercept form.

y=slope*x+y-intercept.
