Over the winter, we had a really bad ice storm, and we were without power for 2 weeks. The first day & a half, we basically were waiting for the electricity to come back on. Then we found out it would be weeks before it was back, and we adjusted. Thankfully, God supplied all our needs, and gave us His peace that He knew exactly what He was doing. If He decided to take electricity away from us all together, I am confident we would be just fine, with His help. There is a link below to some pics of the ice storm aftermath. Pretty interesting photos πŸ™‚

The wise learn skills to survive, and be resourceful no matter what.

Not having any power is a minor inconvenience but not the end of the world.

I’ll take that back for many young birds it is since their lives evolve around, and completely depend on it.

You may want to take a lesson or two from us old folks; that is if you want to be truly wise.

Proverbs 19:20

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.

Have a nice day.

So far I’ve managed to live 14 years and 341 days without any mains power.

We generate our own power using solar panels so I guess I’ll be good just as long as the sun keeps shining.

Some people might find it tough going at first but entire civilisations not only survived, but thrived, without access to electricity or oil or diesel or gas…therefore there’s no reason why, as humans, we can’t again. I can hunt and fish and find water in the desert. I can go to sleep at sundown and get up at sunrise. People would just have to adjust their mind set and their expectations, that’s all.

If power fails I won’t have a computer anymore. Therefore, I doubt I could survive longer than a couple of hours.

Well having been through an ice storm this past winter, losing power for 7 days, I know I will last at least that long. πŸ˜‰

What does power have to do with it? Unless you’re on life support, you can’t predict how long you will live, power or no power. People lived without power in the past; I’m sure we could, too.

I might be content to sit along railroad tracks…cooking some beans over a campfire. Wearing old overalls, and sipping cheap wine.
