Twice removed means that there is a two-generation difference. You are two generations younger than a first cousin of your grandmother, so you and your grandmother’s first cousin are first cousins, twice removed.

Twice removed would mean you are 2 generations apart from that cousin. They would be your aunts great grand child for example.

A second cousin would be your great aunts grandchild – the same generation as you but the common relative is 2 generations apart from both of you
