Before you begin, find a private place to relax. Pretend that each part of your body is slowly filling up with sand and becoming very heavy. Then, slowly imagine the opposite. Imagine that the sand is slowly draining from each part of your body one at a time. This will help you to feel very relaxed when you go in to do your speech. Try to not drink milk or citrus juice the morning of your speech so that you will not have phlem in your throat when it is your turn to speak. It also helps to look just over the heads of the poeple who are watching your presentation. You will not have to give them direct eye contact BUT it will look like you are doing just that. Eye contact shows confidence and makes you give a better speech. When you are afraid, simply looking just above the top of a person’s head gives the air that you are looking right at the poeple to who you are talking. Smile and tell yourself that you will do great because you have studied hard and have a good attitude. The brain is a powerful tool. Keep a great attitude and your presentation will go better than you could know. consider the acronym for fear: False Evidence Appearing Real! If you are prepared and relaxed, you are ready to give a great speech so don’t tell yourself that you will do badly or that you have anything of which to be afraid. If the truth is that you are well-prepared, tell yourself that you will do well. So dream and imagine yourself doing a great job, then smile and do it!

The most easiest and effective way to overcome anxiety, when making an oral presentation is to:

1. pray to God for enlightenment.

2. Relax your body

3. Focus on the things that you need to discuss.

4. Try habitual exercise that will improve your postures and other skills.

All of the above answers are very good advice. I’ll put my vote in for the quiz-candy idea as well. Ask pretty easy questions about things you said in your presentation, and then bring some candy and give it to the people who answer. This is a tried and true technique that is sometimes still used in college, even by teachers, because it works. It sounds like you’re fairly young so if you do this your teacher will definitely be impressed. Good luck.

1. Practice ahead of time. When you’re giving your talk, try to _concentrate on the material_–don’t think about what kind of impression you’re making, etc. Really try to get into and feel the talk.

2. Try reading Dale Carnegie’s Book, “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.” A lot of people who are nervous about public speaking get anxious in other situations, too. Researchers sometimes talk about “bibliotherapy”–just reading about a problem like this makes it easier to cope with.

3. Spend some time every day visualizing success. Don’t think about how things can go wrong … Think about things going right! Really right! Super right!

4. Consider joining Toastmasters. They help A LOT of nervous public speakers become super-confident public speakers.

Good luck. I’ll send good thoughts your way.

Deep breathing, breathe in deeply hold it and let it out slowly. This really can help, do it whenever you start to get really anxious. Know your material, practice in advance in front of friends, family, or even the mirror. When you are making your presentation, it helps to have visuals because then some of the attention is off you, plus you have something to do with your hands.

Heheh, pretend you are talking to the back wall. The wall is listening better than most of the audience, a lot of the time. I got over my fear of public speaking by becoming a guide leader. I realised that if I could communicate and give directions to them, I could do the same to anyone else.

Try not to talk in the same manner as you write. You don’t need the double superlative in the question you wrote.

ie: “…easiest and most effective…

NOT… “most easiest”
