To know how homeschoolers make friends, picture yourself in this situation:

You’re 15, and you’ve moved to another country right when their school year ends. How do you make friends?

I just do what I like doing and I meet other people.

Non- (and sometimes anti-) homeschoolers often realize how obvious that is once it’s pointed out, but mainstream society has all these weird ideas about homeschooling. Look at ‘The Brothers Solomon.’ The line from the ad is, “Seduction was a skill they never learned in home-school.” Two hopeless dweebs, socially stunted, have to go and try to get laid. Besides being offensive, it looks like a crap movie.

I met most of my friends in a playwriting class and theater group.

I’m not in a program, though, I just fill out my IHIP (telling the BoE what I’m going to do) and cover the subjects however I want.

my kids are in the home school association here and they do co-op. my sisters kids are in karate and ballet, her oldest is in 2 or 3 bands and they are all involved in their church programs they have a special club for 4th- 6th graders club456 and they have a wonderful youth group as well as summer camp and vbs. These programs aren’t grade dependent (except club456) The co-op offers classes in every thing from basic math to trig if its needed art foreign language PE sciences histories. We can chose to go once or twice a week and different classes are offered on those days so that the kids can take more than 2 classes if they choose. They can take up to 4 a semester and it will offer different classes for the next semester

Our children meet people, and develop friendships at Church, youth group, their work place, during volunteering, and in classes they may be taking at a local college, or an other education center.

They also go on retreats, and attend summer teen camps.

Their academic home school program is only a small part of their daily schedule, leaving plenty of other opportunities for learning, and interacting with other people.

I have millions of friends it seems like! i meet them from church, camps i go to, etc. we have a homeschooling co-op, and all these kids who are homeschooled go there once a week and get regular classes just like public schoolers. you just have to look around for some stuff. ask anybody you know who is homeschooled what they do. you can look stuff up on the internet. but there are things out there you can do.

There are the parks and playgrounds.

There is Karate class.

There is gynmastics

There are softball and little leagues

Bowling leagues.

There is the mall

There is Girl or Boy Scouts

If you are religious there is Sunday School and Choir

Local groups, local clubs, etc.

Just find local groups that share your interest. Youth clubs are good.

Work place and sports are where I’ve met most my friends.
