The introduction should cover the topic and be only a few sentences long.
Each following paragraph should cover one point and include supporting material. You don’t just make statements, you have to include the evidence.
The conlcusion is as brief as the introduction and is a summary of the information in the paragraphs – no new information should be added to a conclusion and no opinion should be expressed in the conclusion.
As a general rule what works well for most students is to write the body of the essay first and then go back and write the introduction and the conclusion. This habit helps you focus on the writing, and helps to stop you trying to force your essay to match your introduction which you may have written with a personal bias.
